i kinda suck at reading. im not sure what it is but there is something about just reading capital B Books that doesnt jive with me. theres so many words and i just kinda get bored and start looking at the patterns between the words and shit so i have to reread almost every page like 5 times to actually understand it. rich coming from a girl who is posting this on her blog, i know, but i find writing a helluva lot easier. unfortunately this means i dont proof read too well so, sorry about that. anyway all that rambling aside, because of this i generally prefer to read things with pictures which is great excpet im also really picky about the art styles i like. but! on the bright side manga happens to frequently be in an art style i like, even if there are some graphic novels from the west that i can do, its great to have so many options for someone as weird as us. so anyway these are just some of the ones ive read and why i love them. this isnt in any particular order or anything, just kind of the order i remember them in
many of these cover big topics or are just flat out yuri so, i suppose be ready for that, anyway:

    girls' last tour:

this one has been a personal favorite for years and years, it kind of sums up our general life philosphies into one story and is a very cozy mix of slice-of-life and post-apocalypse. weird things happen and these girls just have to tough it out through it all. originally we got into this from the anime, was great but the mangas ending is entirely different. i seriously highly reccomend at least watching the anime, and if you can check out the book! [or, do what we did which was watch the anime and skim through the book until about chapter 31 when things actually change between the anime and manga, then pick up there and finish it off] the author [tsukumizu] has also made a story called shimeji simulation, and while we havent gotten too far in it [wasnt in a huge reading mood at the time] it seemed pretty neat, so may be another story to consider

that time i was blackmailed by the class' green tea bitch:

this is yuri. its just yuri. thats all. i mean its good i love the characters and i love the general design. all the characters feel so well developed and all their plights realistic. it strikes that perfect balance of having a good story and also having gay bits that make me want to kick my feet in the air. seriously its so good i read pretty much all of the first volume it just one sitting and i NEVER do that. if you want a nice yuri, check this out.

    candy and cigarettes:

i almost never engage with things that arent slice-of-life-esque and to be fair this still manages to be very slice of life. but it has some action! now ive not made it very far into the first volume so i cant say if it stays good but the first impressions here are great, im so eager to read more. the characters are so interestingly designed and i just cannot wait to learn more about them

    920London [and also The Pervert]:

this is it this is the real reason i made this to talk about these two stories because i love them so much. these are Depressing they are sad and yet, authentic. it isnt just sad for the sake of it it just explores the lives of these characters who have had tough times and deserve a break. they both cover heavy topics both containing difficult sex lives and some drug use [counting cigarettes as a drug at least] both also talk about suicide. just as a heads up. but seriously these are just so raw. one of the things i love most about music is when its raw, i love emotions just as they are. unfiltered and just put out there. these are the book equivalent of that. oh also both stores have transgender lead characters. anyway yeah if you have any interest in reading something about the lives of characters who are not very well off this is your book i BEG you to check them out because they mean SO much to me right now

anyway thats all, as alluded to above very little proofreading will go into this so sorry it is essentially a bigass ramble. that said i hope you at least left with one book reccomendation to check out. i seriously hate how difficult it is to find suggestions from other tgirls who dont like reading pages and pages of words with no pictures. but alas, here i am. take care!
